Optum Healthcare and Cigna Healthcare are no longer partnering to provide care to customers in Arizona, according to statements from both companies on Monday.
“At Optum, we are focused on delivering high-quality, coordinated care and supporting the health of the communities we serve,” an Optum spokesperson wrote in an emailed statement. “Although Optum and Cigna were unable to reach an agreement, we will continue to advocate for solutions that support patient access, affordability and better health outcomes.”
Optum, part of the UnitedHealth group, was founded in 2011 and offers connected services such as doctor visits, mental health and specialty care — in clinics, at home and online.
