Options to get water to Rio Verde Foothills run short

The list of options to get hauled water to the dusty Rio Verde Fooothills community northeast of Scottsdale before the summer heat kicks in are growing thin.

House Bill 2561, introduced by the Rep. Alexander Kolodin would have forced Scottsdale to provide water to the roughly 700 homes in the area that rely on hauled water.

However, an amendment stating that Maricopa County would step in as a middleman between the city and the homeowners got attached to the bill, which the county disapproved of.
