Opal Faye Newberry, 77Opal Faye Newberry, 77, of Apache Junction, passed away June 23, 2008 in Apache Junction, Ariz.Ms. Newberry was a heavy equipment operator on the Alaskan Pipeline in the late 1970s. She was an avid Canasta player and loved traveling in her RV with her fellow club members of the Loners on Wheels.She is survived by her three daughters, Vicki (Vince) Poleo of Flagstaff, Ariz., Kathy (Bob) Kelton of Pecos, Texas, Cindy (Don) Williams of Anchorage, Alaska; step-daughter, Lani (Kava) Amete and stepson Chuck, both of Queen Creek, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.Donations may be made in her name to Hospice of the Valley, 777 W. Southern Ave. No. 301, Mesa, AZ 85201.
