One Step Beyond — a programming and services provider for adults who have intellectual disabilities — is commemorating 20 years of impact.

The 20th Anniversary and Help Us Grow (HUG) Gala will take at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14 at The Duce, at 525 S. Central Ave., in Phoenix.

The event will include uplifting presentations, a live auction, cocktail hour, plated dinner, live bands and more.

“One Step Beyond has had the privilege of witnessing the remarkable achievements of our participants over the past 20 years and with your support we can do even more in the next 20,” One Step Beyond CEO Madison Blanton shared in a press release. “As we celebrate this milestone, the HUG Gala will shine a light on the accomplishments of our participants and the milestones that they have achieved in our programs including securing meaningful employment and graduating from community college.”

One Step Beyond has campuses in Glendale (7200 W. Bell Road, Buildings G, H, I, J, K), Scottsdale (8224 E. Evans Road) and Surprise (15527 N. Reems Road, Buildings B, C, F, G) plus a culinary training center in Peoria (9299 W. Olive Ave., Suite 311).

One Step Beyond will also host a community open house from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14 at The Duce. This event is free and open to the public with food and drink available for sale. Casual attire is preferred.

Individual HUG Gala tickets are available for $200 per person and a table of 10 is available for $2,000.

There will also be an after-hours party from 9 p.m. to midnight that will feature live music and dancing. Tickets are available for $25.

“We are appreciative of the support from key individuals in our community who use their voice and take action to ensure that people with intellectual disabilities are fully included in all areas of life,” Blanton stated. “The HUG Award honors advocates that are not only raising awareness but challenging the misconceptions and stigmas surrounding disabilities.”
