OPINION — Recently in the Independent, someone submitted their concern about birthright citizenship.
Please, folks, understand that the Constitution is still the law of the land and just because the president does an Executive Order doesn’t mean that it is lawful.
The Constitution plainly states anyone born on U.S. soil is a citizen, period. It also states that elections will be the purview of the states, not the federal government! The SAVE America Act would not hold up to the Constitution even if it were passed.
