Old Town Scottsdale getting face lift

The City of Scottsdale is committing over $40 million this fiscal year for Old Town improvements happening now and in the future.

Most of the money is going into two parking structures which won’t be complete this year though, as well as Main Street streetscape and pedestrian improvements.

The first project is the $15.2 million, controversial parking garage earmarked for the corner First Street and Brown Avenue. The garage is expected to be completed sometime in the spring of 2027, but many residents don’t approve of the location.
