Old Town Peoria revitalization plan comes into view

Plans for new landmarks, restaurants, redevelopment of historic schoolhouse, others

The city’s multiple attempts at revitalizing Old Town Peoria has been a long time coming, but it appears to have some steam behind it this time around.

In the past, the city has tried to get a master developer behind the revitalization with little success, but now the city is taking a different approach — “If it can happen now, let’s go forward with it.”

That’s the way Deputy City Manager Mike Faust puts it.
