OHOA ends season with sharing event

Previews next year’s offerings

The Organization of HOAs Office will close at noon Wednesday, April 26 for the season.

The office will re-open 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2. Staff will return phone calls and emails received during the summer recess. Email achoscw@aol.com or call 623-214-6006.

The OHOA Board Buzz will continue again in October where members personally meet with knowledgeable members of the HOA board of directors to ask questions. OHOA officials also tentatively scheduled the HOA Board 101 class for new and potential HOA board members 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26. This 2-hour class is a starting point to learn the basics of running an effective and legally compliant Arizona HOA board. The catch phrase for this class is, “I am on my HOA board, or thinking about running for my HOA board, what do I really need to know?” This class is an excellent preview of the OHOA Leadership academies offered in January and February.

The catch phrase for this class is, “I am on my HOA board, or thinking about running for my HOA board, what do I really need to know?” This class is an excellent preview of the OHOA Leadership academies offered in January and February.

The OHOA will host an open house 1-3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, during which residents can discover how OHOA can assist their Sun City West HOA board and visit with the OHOA Board of Directors.

The 2023-24 seminars will include important topics, such as annual meetings, the annual Arizona Legislature update, rock and landscaping materials, irrigation plumbing, the Annual HOA case law update and the annual sharing event in April.

Watch for more news on each of these events in the early fall in the OHOA Informer, the Sun City West News, the Sun City West eNews, the PORA newsletter and the Independent newspaper. All Sun City West HOAs are welcome to join OHOA. If an HOA is a member of OHOA, all member HOA homeowners are also members of OHOA and eligible to attend seminars and classes. Email or call for details.

The OHOA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides educational opportunities, information and support to planned community and condominium associations in Sun City West. Visit the OHOA website at ohoa-scw.org or call the OHOA Office at 623-214-6006.
