Officials: Tier 2a reductions to bring ‘negligible’ water cuts to Peoria

The U.S. Department of the Interior recently announced that Arizona faces water cuts in 2023 to the tune of 21% of the state’s annual apportionment of Colorado River water.

The reduction for Arizona amounts to 592,000 acre-feet, with cuts to impact primarily agriculture uses, and Valley cities saying it represents a small reduction in the amount of overall water in their portfolios.
