Local fire officials are ramping up for what could be another busy fire season in the Valley as fire departments are scheduled to participate in wildland fire training next week.
Departments such as Peoria Fire and the Bureau of Land Management crews will participate in wildland training exercises at Lake Pleasant in a multiagency effort to get officials on the same page, said Tiffany Davila, public affairs officer for the Department of Forestry and Fire Management.
Lack of precipitation and warmer temperatures is a recipe for a fire season that can get started quickly.
