Officer finishes food event before fire crew at Macayo’s

There was no sign of evidence as Surprise Police Sgt. Severin Hall cleaned his plate with time still left on the clock as he successfully completed the Chimichanga Challenge.

Macayo’s Mexican Food restaurant, 15565 W. Bell Road, hosted the Surprise Fire-Medical versus Surprise Police Department’s Chimichanga Challenge on July 28.

About five pounds of Chimichanga filled with a choice of shredded meat, mixed with Mexican rice and refried beans, topped with red enchilada sauce, the venue’s “famous baja sauce,” fire-roasted tomatillo sauce, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, mixed cheese and jack cheese, must be finished in 20 minutes or less.
