An office building is to be constructed on a vacant lot at 1155 E. Emerald Ave. in Mesa.
A development incentive permit to allow deviations from certain development standards was approved by the Mesa Board of Adjustment in a 6-0 vote Feb. 2 of a consent agenda with other items, with Heath Reed absent.
“The general plan character area is neighborhood; the goal is to provide safe places for people to live where they can feel secure and enjoy their surrounding community. The current zoning for this site is office commercial, which is an allowed use in the zoning ordinance,” Staff Planner Chloe Durfee Daniel said during a study session prior to the meeting.
