WEST VALLEY PREPS

O'Connor grounds, then pounds, rival Mountain Ridge

The O'Connor defense allowed the first points of the night in its home rivalry game against Mountain Ridge, a field goal  with 4:06 left in the first quarter.

This dominant unit did not allow the Mountain Lions' offense into the red zone again until the final minute of the game. A highlight reel interception return allowed the Eagles' defense to outscore that offense in the end.

“We played hard and our defense played great. Our defense has been the best thing about this year. Give Mountain Ridge credit. They came out and played hard too,” O'Connor coach Brian Cole said.
