During Friday's 6A state volleyball title game Gilbert Perry achieved something very unusual.

The Pumas became only the fifth team this season to win a set against #1 seed O'Connor, pulling away to take the second set 25-18.

O'Connor (34-1) made sure that was it, finishing the season by reasserting the dominance it had shown all fall. The Eagles won the first state title in school history in emphatic fashion 25-19, 18-25, 25-17, 25-16.
