This is to response to Brian Reilly’s letter that ran Sept. 21, 2023.
For first time in the history of the United States, the 45th President of the United States would not accept the peaceful transfer of power in this country. He never conceded. He led, and it was his idea, according to his own interviews, to overthrow the election. This is not a witch hunt, or liberals, nor RINOs. These are people under oath who work for Donald Trump who are testifying against his crimes to the nation. Ninety-one indictments in three different jurisdictions, a pattern with this former president.
He had to pay $25 million to former students. He defrauded in his fake university scam. He paid a $25,000 fine in Florida for bribing the attorney general. He was born wealthy. He never did anything successful with his money he built, and then filed bankruptcy and hurt many people along the way.
I’m not a religious man, but to equate Donald Trump with God is just plain wrong. I think Jesus himself would have problems with the MAGA wing of the Republican Party.
My father fought in World War II against folks who burned books, who wanted a Christian theocracy to govern, who hated science, who tried to hide uncomfortable history. I support President Biden because of his policies. I don’t support him like MAGA folks support their dear leader. As I write this, Donald Trump is ordering the extreme wing of the Republican Party to shut this country down in the ongoing budget talks.
Donald Trump does not care about anybody or anything except himself. It was Joe Biden that got the infrastructure bill passed. It was Joe Biden who got Medicare to negotiate with drug companies over prescription drugs. It was Joe Biden who passed the CHIPS bill that is bringing manufacturing back to the United States. We have one of the lowest unemployment rates in 50 years.
Joe Biden is much more in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ than Donald Trump. I think Joe Biden has empathy for other human beings, the way Jesus Christ did. I know Joe Biden will not try to overthrow the United States of America like Donald Trump did.
