North Scottsdale United Methodist Church invites children between the ages of 3 and 12 and their families to a one-hour reprise of its Compassion Camp at 11 a.m. Sept. 21 at the church at 11735 N. Scottsdale Road.
This year will include a science twist and an insightful parent workshop led by Dr. Scott Herrmann, a nationally recognized psychologist, according to a press release.
While children engage in hands-on science activities, yoga, and mindfulness practices, parents will attend a special workshop titled “The First Steps Toward Mindfulness.”

Events for children include:
• Yoga (20 minutes): a playful session to relax, stretch and slow down.
• Mindfulness (20 minutes): creative journaling, breathing exercises and scripture reflections.
• Science (20 minutes): fun experiments and object lessons that connect curiosity with faith.
