The Fetch Foundation has resupplied the Phoenix Fire Department with FIDO bags that contain items to help save animals who need help during emergencies.
The nonprofit, which rescues orphaned dogs, has been assisting the department for more than 10 years, according to a release.
The bags contain a variety of items including gloves, medical tape, oxygen masks created to fit over the muzzle of an animal and a CD to ensure proper use.
The foundation recently contributed 28 FIDO bags to firefighters, ensuring at least one bag is at each station.
“Back in the day, firefighters would go in and find an animal terribly compromised and say they were terribly sorry," Marie Peck of the Fetch Foundation said.
“Now, they have the tools to save these animals and give it their best."
