The attempt to have a second Recreation Centers of Sun City annual meeting for the second time in 13 years fell flat.
Between in-person attendance and proxies, there were more than 560 members on hand for the Nov. 1 gathering. That fell far short of the current 1,250-member quorum needed to conduct business in a member meeting.
Several members said it was more difficult this time to gather proxies because of what — or in their view what didn’t — happen last year. Five motions were presented and approved by the members. But according to RCSC governing documents, those motions are simply recommendations to the board. But the board denied two of the motions outright during a regular business meeting and did not act on the others.
