No more mask mandate

RCSCW officials stop enforcement

To wear or not to wear a mask is the question individuals, organizations and businesses are facing.

With the elimination of the mask mandate by Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey March 25, the Recreation Centers of Sun City West, 19803 N. R.H. Johnson Blvd., officials also removed the mask mandate for all RCSCW facilities. In a press release the same day, RCSCW officials recommended residents and employees wear masks and practice social distancing, and stated plexiglass and sanitizing stations will remain in place. Also, according to the Arizona Department of Health Services COVID dashboard, nearly 73% of residents in the Sun City West ZIP code were vaccinated.

“As a private association, we could continue to have our own mask mandate. However, we are balancing all the stats we have about cases, vaccinations and other health advice. About 73% of our population has been vaccinated, according to the ADHS website. That’s huge,” Katy O’Grady, RCSCW general services officer said.
