Apache Junction Police Department responded to a lockdown at Four Peaks Elementary School this morning after a student said they had a gun. No weapon was found and the lockdown was cleared.
“Students advised faculty that another student might have a gun in their possession. Our officers quickly arrived on the scene in under two minutes and found that the claim was unfounded. The situation is safe, and the school’s lockdown has been cleared,” AJPD said on Facebook @ApacheJunctionPD.
"We were called for the lockdown at 8:40 a.m. and arrived within two minutes. The officers searched for the weapon, but the claim was unfounded, as the child did not have a gun in their possession. This is all the information I can relay," Rayna Steffen, AJPD public safety information officer, said in an email.
