No decision yet on EPCOR rate case

ACC to discuss again Wednesday

No final decision was made Tuesday on a long-awaited water rate case where the state’s utility commission could eventually decide to consolidate some water districts.

The Arizona Corporation Commission is tasked with deciding whether to consolidate 11 EPCOR Inc. water districts that stretch from Anthem to Tubac. The ACC meets again  on Wednesday.

At Tuesday’s meeting, Commissioner Jim O’Connor submitted an amendment to scenario one to “deny full consolidation and to adopt partial consolidation,” the amendment said. The amendment would consolidate Agua Fria, Anthem, Chaparral, Lake Havasu, Tubac, Willow Valley and Paradise Valley. Sun City and Sun City West would stand alone while Mohave and north Mohave would form a separate water district, the amendment said.
