No charges filed in case of Oct. 24 dog shooting

Police: the shooting appears to be in self defense

No charges were filed in the case of a dog being shot and killed Oct. 24 at the Bixby Hotel, 409 N. Scottsdale Road.

“No charges were filed as the shooting of the dog appears to be in self defense,” Scottsdale Police Department Sgt. Allison Sempsis said in an email to the Daily Independent.

Nayla Watlington and Jason Rickel were taken to an HonorHealth facility on Osborn Road for their bite wounds from the dog, according to a police report.
