One of the first contracts for the rebuilding of the Chandler Unified School District’s oldest elementary school is on the agenda for the CUSD Governing Board’s Wednesday night meeting.
The agenda for the meeting, set for 7 p.m., includes an action item for approval of a $1.73 million contract with the architectural firm Orcutt Winslow. The district intends to rebuild Hartford Elementary School, built in 1957, replacing it with a modern 72,000-square-foot facility with a capacity for 750 students.
Orcutt Winslow was selected by staff to be the architect. With an estimated construction cost of $32.04 million, Orcutt Winslow’s proposed fee is 5.4% of the construction budget.
