Newspaper advertising agreement approved by Apache Junction council

A legal advertising agreement with a newspaper was recently approved by the Apache Junction City Council.

“State law requires that we publish certain legal notices such as election matters, public hearings, bids, etc.,” Deputy City Clerk Jillian Bright said in a memo to the council. “The law further defines ‘newspaper’ and prohibits the use of publications that are designed primarily for advertising, free circulation or circulation at nominal rates or do not have a bona fide list of paying subscribers. The Arizona Republic meets these statutory requirements.”

There is no price increase from the 2019 and 2020 agreements, which were from 42 cents per line per day to $1.42 per line per day.
