New year brings 1,234 new COVID cases to Surprise

The Arizona Department of Health Services reported the overall number of Surprise COVID-19 cases at 7,760 on Jan. 7. That’s an increase of 1,234 from Dec. 31.

Here are the number of COVID-19 cases for zip codes that include Surprise and some surrounding areas, according to the ADHS. The ADHS said more than 90% of cases were mapped to the address of the patient’s residence:
