Sun Cities residents saw their wastewater rates rise dramatically five years ago and they likely will see them jump up again.
EPCOR Water Co. officials filed a request with the Arizona Corporation Commission for a rate review that could be decided by late fall. EPCOR officials made a presentation to Sun City residents Feb. 1 to explain the procedure and review the proposals. Additional community meetings will be scheduled in the Sun Cities in the coming weeks, but dates and times have yet to be determined.
“We are not required to conduct these meetings,” said Rebecca Stenholm, EPCOR spokeswoman. “But we believe it is important to inform our customers and let them ask questions.”
