The Queen Creek Unified School District Governing Board and Superintendent Perry Berry have announced a new principal for Eastmark High School for the upcoming school year.

Jay Schnittger, former assistant principal at Queen Creek High School, is now the principal at the district’s high school in east Mesa.

Schnittger began his career 15 years ago as a social studies teacher. He has also coached football and has served as an athletic director and an administrator, according to a press release.

“I am excited and honored to begin serving as your principal at Eastmark High School” Schnittger told the students and families of Eastmark in a letter this week. “It is my responsibility to support, encourage and motivate staff and students as we look to pursue excellence in all that we do.”

Eastmark High School is located at 9560 E. Ray Road in Mesa. The first day of classes is Monday, July 24.
