New Phoenix Police records system aims to be more ‘transparent and data-driven’

Phoenix Police is transitioning to a new record management system, one they believe will allow the public to better assess its operations, department officials told council last week.

The system supports the police department’s “mission of being transparent and data-driven,” Phoenix Police Assistant Director of Technical Services Jody Wolf told council during the Sept. 9 meeting.

The department is switching from Hexagon Records Management System to Motorola’s PremierOne Records Management System. Wolf said the change will make it easy to collect more data, and a new analytical tool the department is using called Peregrine will make it easier to aggregate and analyze the data.
