New measles cases reported in Maricopa County, possible East Valley exposure

Maricopa County health officials have confirmed two more measles cases, saying the disease “is now spreading within the community.

“These new cases underscore the growing risk of local transmission and the importance of vaccination and early symptom recognition,” according to a Maricopa County Department of Public Health release.

Authorities also said Friday the health department has identified three additional locations where people may have been exposed to measles because of the latest cases. All three are in Gilbert:
