New marijuana regulations include no cultivation, infusion kitchens

Apache Junction council votes 5-2 on ordinance, resolution

Regulations on where to put marijuana dispensaries and not allowing cultivation and infusion kitchens were approved recently by the Apache Junction City Council.

Proposition 207, approved by voters in November 2020, allows adults 21 and older to possess and use specified amounts of marijuana and permits growth of a limited number of marijuana plants at a person’s residence in an enclosed, locked area not visible from public view.

The proposition also establishes the Arizona Department of Health Services as the regulatory authority to issue licenses to establishments for the sale of recreational marijuana.
