Surprise and Dysart Unified School Districts are teaming on a project aimed at keeping students safe at one of the district’s schools in the city.
The district plans to move the entrance of West Point Elementary School, 13700 W. Greenway Road, to align with 137th Avenue and is partnering with the city on a light and crossing at the new intersection to make it safer for students walking to school.
Community members and parents of West Point students were even moved to tears to express gratitude to the Dysart district for putting student safety first.
