Historic Gilbert house finds new life in development plan

An Arizona restaurateur has big plans for a new concept in Gilbert’s Heritage District that will preserve one of the town’s oldest homes while transforming the surrounding space into a dynamic, community-driven venue.

Nathan Ares, owner of the Ares Collective Restaurant Group that includes Prep & Pastry on Gilbert Road, has acquired the historic Clare House, a 107-year-old home once destined for the wrecking ball.

A relocation effort to HD South museum failed because of logistic and financial challenges. Ares now plans to integrate Clare House into a larger concept, called Clare House Social, that celebrates both history and hospitality.
