New Glendale pickleball facility to host 2-day charity tournament

The Pickleball Space, a newly-opened facility in Glendale, will host a two-day grand opening charity pickleball tournament this month.

The event, beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20 and Sunday, Jan. 21, will donate 50% of proceeds to the C4 Foundation, which provides resources and support to active-duty Navy SEALs and their families.

The Pickleball Space is located at 5665 W. Bell Road and is equipped with 10 indoor courts.

“We are thrilled to bring the Glendale community a welcoming space for players of all skill levels to experience the game of pickleball,” John Solema, director of development & programs, stated in a press release.

The two-day tournament will feature men’s and women’s doubles on Saturday, Jan. 20 and mixed doubles on Sunday, Jan. 21. Tournament entry fee begins at $40 per person with additional brackets for $10. Prices increase beginning Wednesday, Jan. 10 with registration closing Friday, Jan. 12.
