New fire station, parks improvements and other improvements among $1.35B Chandler budget

The city of Chandler is breaking ground on several new projects and adding more personnel in some areas as part of its $1.35B budget.

The budget, approved in mid-June, saw a nearly 30% increase from last year, with capital improvement projects making up 60% of the increase, according to city officials. Many of the improvement projects are being funded with bond dollars approved by voters last November.

Rebuilding Fire Station No. 282—the city’s busiest—is on the list of projects set to start this fall as well as improvements to play fields and parks and street repaving and widening efforts.
