Scottsdale’s newest fire station near the Intersection of N. Hayden Road and the Loop 101 should save invaluable minutes and seconds during calls to the booming area around it.
Station 612, which opened Sept. 22 but was officially celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house Oct. 3, is already expected to respond to 1,700 calls a year without taking into consideration any of the new construction earmarked for the area.
“Every building and every body needs us to engage with them within six to eight minutes so when we think about placing stations, the absence of this station meant that it was taking that much longer for fire trucks to get into this (station),” Fire Chief Tom Shannon said.
