There's a new Cinco de Mayo event tonight in Florence

Cinco de Mayo is a minor holiday in Mexico that commemorates that country’s victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Ironically, on this side of the border, Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a day of parties and festivals not unlike St. Patrick’s Day.

This year, residents in Florence and the surrounding area can celebrate Cinco de Mayo at a new event, the “Cinco de Mayo Fiesta.”
