New Chandler cafe has chile, pastries, fondue

“The Chandler” is a grilled ham and cheese sandwich that’s one of the entrees at Bonnie’s Bread & Butter, located in a small Arizona Avenue shopping center, just south of Ray Road.

Bonita “Bonnie” Henderson grew up in a military family, sampling food all over the world.

Spain, the U.K., Germany, the U.S. East Coast and Albuquerque are some of the places that informed her tastes. There’s a little something from many of those places on the menu at Bonnie’s Bread & Butter.

Henderson said the menu has undergone several iterations, and led to the “sandwiches, brew and fondue” that’s right under the restaurant name today.
