City unveils 2 resources to help during pandemic

Posted

To help businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Surprise Economic Development department is introducing two new resources to promote local non-restaurant retailers: a purple “Open for Business” #ShopSurprise banner campaign and a new online opt-in promotional tool.

The new purple banner campaign complements the department’s “See Red, Get Fed” banner campaign for restaurants and aims to support a variety of retail businesses that want to increase their visibility during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Businesses in Surprise can request to have their purple “Open for Business” #ShopSurprise banner delivered or coordinate to have it picked up by contacting Kris Cassens at 623-222-3329 or via email at kris.cassens@surpriseaz.gov.

Additionally, the department has created a new online promotional resource that allows any non-restaurant business to opt in to have their establishment promoted on the Surprise Economic Development department website and social media sites.

All non-restaurant retailers that are currently open for business are encouraged to visit Surprise Business Promotion Campaign webpage to complete the registration form.

The opt-in business list is self-registry; any errors or omissions are not the responsibility of the city of Surprise, nor is it an endorsement by the city for any product or service.

The restaurant banner campaign has provided more than 150 promotional banners exclusively to restaurants since its launch on March 17. The Economic Development department also publishes a regularly updated restaurant list for the community.
