A partnership between a Valley education institution and a business nonprofit is expected to help the West Valley upgrade its workforce and reduce barriers to higher education.
The Maricopa Community College District and the Glendale Chamber of Commerce announced on April 5 the creation of the Education Concierge Partnership. The joint endeavor will help Glendale Chamber members offer access to services to help their employees pursue a college education with any of the 10 Maricopa Community Colleges found throughout greater Phoenix. Those services include admissions advice, tuition and financial aid assistance and more.
“We have successfully offered the Education Concierge program in partnership with other companies, but we felt that working with the chamber would broaden our reach, allowing us to serve more employers including smaller businesses that may only have a few employees that need assistance,” said Patti O’Brien, the chief operating officer for Maricopa Corporate Colleges, which facilitated the partnership.
