Over $300,000 in funding has been approved by Tempe City Council for use in the Maryann Corder Neighborhood Grant Program, which supports community-led projects meant to improve neighborhoods.
City council approved the program’s anticipated expenditures in the coming year for a total of $327,250 at its July 27 council meeting.
The Neighborhood Grant Program uses a portion of the city’s annual budget for “community-initiated” capital projects, such as landscaping, xeriscaping, park improvements, lighting, fencing, art projects, signage and traffic calming, that are not covered by traditional budget allocations.
