Near-record highs forecast through Monday

October is starting to resemble some sort of Groundhog Day where Valley residents expect cooler temperatures but awaken to another hot day.

For two straight weeks, the National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued excessive heat warnings to Valley residents.

Plus, the Valley has broken high record temps during that same time period — from Sept. 24 through Oct. 7, said Alex Young, a meteorologist from the National Weather Service in Phoenix.
