Natural gas not the cause of Paradise Valley home explosion
Natural gas does not appear to be the cause of an explosion that destroyed a luxury home in Paradise Valley over the weekend, according to investigators from Southwest Gas. No injuries were reported in the incident.
“The home where the incident took place does not have natural gas service or underground natural gas piping,” a statement from Southwest Gas reads. “As part of our emergency response protocols, Southwest Gas arrived on scene to provide assistance to our local fire department who has command of the area. Out of an abundance of caution, our crews immediately conducted leak surveys in the vicinity -- no gas reads were found in the area.”
The incident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5th at a home near 36th Street and Lincoln Drive.

The Phoenix Fire Department officials are still investigating the cause of the explosion.
