The Nash is getting into the fall spirit with its September lineup.
The main spot on Roosevelt Row for live jazz, located at 110 E. Roosevelt St., will open the month with a performance from Mike Ozuna and his quartet for First Friday at 7 p.m. Sept. 1. Ozuna, on guitar, will be joined by Brice Winston on sax, Chris Finet on bass, and Rob Moore on drums.
Nazim Rashid and New Renaissance follow at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2 on the month’s first weekend. Rashid has played with jazz masters like Eddie Harris, who took him on as a student; Jimmy Smith; Pharoah Sanders; Hank Jones; Arthur Prysock; Groove Holmes; and Eddie Henderson.
Carmela y Más return to The Nash to perform salsa classics along with works from Puerto Rico’s’ Olga Tañon and Cuban-American Gloria Estefan with a 7:30 p.m. show Saturday, Sept. 9.
Also next month look to welcome Corcoran Holt to the Valley as he takes up residency at ASU as the Jazz Bass instructor. His quintet performs at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16.
