Surprise - Nancy J. Kasanicky (White) of Surprise, Arizona died peacefully surrounded by family on January 25, 2016. She was 72. Known to her friends as "Nance" and family as "Nana," Nancy was born in Wheeling, W. Va. on December 15, 1943 to Gus and Vilma White. She was the fourth of five children. She married her lifelong sweetheart, Kas, on October 30, 1965 and together, they raised their four children in a loving and active home in Wheeling. She was an energetic member of her community and dedicated her life to her family. Nancy was admired for her sense of humor, determination, strength, and enthusiasm. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. She worked as an administrative professional at Temple Shalom in Wheeling and Brighton Gardens of Sun City. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior on September 17, 2005. She was preceded in her death by her loving husband, William R. Kasanicky, who passed at the age of 49. She is survived by her son, Andy Kasanicky and wife Tina; son, Chaz Kasanicky and wife Lisa; daughter, Karen Rike and husband Chris; son, Sam Kasanicky and wife Tiffany; granddaughter, Alena Kasanicky; sisters, Betty Harris, Alice Knollinger, Jeri Parsons, Marty Craig; and a close-knit extended family of brother in-laws, nieces, nephews and long-time friends. Her life will be celebrated by family and friends at a memorial service to be held in Wheeling on May 28, 2016 at the Stifel Fine Arts Center. Her family wishes to thank the caring staff at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Boswell Hospital in Sun City and Hospice of the Valley in Surprise.
