Nadene Lucille Westrich, 89, and a resident of Heath, TX, for five years, passed away July 23, 2017. She was born June 26, 1928, in Oakville, IA, to John Leonard Hultgren and Daisy (Schweitzer) Hultgren.Formerly of Sun City West, AZ, and Kansas City, MO, Mrs. Westrich was a registered nurse specializing in Oncology, and over her career was very caring to many. She was proud to receive the Nurse of the Year award while working at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Kansas City. Mrs. Westrich was also a Eucharistic minister for a time.She was married to her late husband, John, for over 60 years until he passed away in 2013. Mrs. Westrich was a strong woman and together with John worked hard for everything they had. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and baking. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Rockwall, TX. Mrs. Westrich loved her family very much and always had a smile on her face. Those who knew her will miss her sweet spirit. She is survived by her son: John R. Westrich and wife Julie; daughter: Carol A. Hagan and husband Don; six grandchildren: Ben Hagan, Katie Hagan, Elizabeth Hagan, Alex Westrich, Anne Marie Westrich and Allison Westrich; brothers-in-law: Roy Westrich and Bill Miller; niece: Sharon Potacki and husband Mike; and her beloved cat: Lucy.She was preceded in death by her husband: John; sisters: Pauline Miller and Marian Morrison; and brother: Clyde Hultgren.Funeral Services under the direction of Rest Haven Funeral Home, Rockwall, TX, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 31, 2017, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 1305 Damascus Road, Rockwall, TX; with Father George Monaghan officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 P.M. in DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas.Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
