NAACP calls for Scottsdale city manager to resign or be removed

The Arizona State Conference of the NAACP is calling for Scottsdale City Manager Greg Caton to resign or be removed by the city council.

A recent letter from the organization to Mayor Lisa Borowsky and council members cites “(Caton’s) lack of commitment to fostering an inclusive city that is respectful of diverse perspective and community input,” as the reason for the conference’s stance.

Conference members recently met with Caton to discuss the lack of a staff member dedicated to diversity, equity and inclusion and the city’s defunding of Juneteenth celebrations.
