It would be easy for a 6-3, 275-pound defensive end verbally committed to one of the top 10 college programs in the country to coast in his senior year of high school football.
But it wouldn’t be My’Keil Gardner, and going through the motions is not in his DNA. Before heading to Oregon he is having the senior year he has been waiting for — the one where Liberty establishes itself as the best team in the state.
After winning a tough Nov. 4 showdown with #6 Centennial 24-14 the Lions remain a historically dominant 9-0 team, outscoring opponents 377-62. Liberty entered November ranked #1 in the state and #16 in the country by MaxPreps, determined to win its first Open Division title.
