State officials are adapting their business model for the Motor Vehicle Division in the wake of the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic, adding online services and launching a revamped phone center to accommodate those who can no longer get in-person help.
Following Gov. Doug Ducey’s executive orders in March, Arizona Department of Transportation officials were forced to reduce in-person traffic dramatically at Valley offices. This led to longer waits and processing times and provoked the ire of some area motorists, according to some accounts.
“Anyone else waiting way too long to receive their vehicles registration? I paid mine 2 months ago and still haven’t received my sticker, we’re going camping this weekend and I’m slightly concerned,” city of Maricopa resident Dustin Shuger-Pryor posted on a popular social media site.
