Muslims call for resignation of Peoria Unified board member

Claim posts on her Facebook page are Islamophobic

A Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization as well as a group of Muslims with connections to the Peoria Unified School District are calling for the resignation of governing board member Janelle Bowles for alleged Islamophobic posts on her Facebook page.

The posts shared fears of Islam taking over the nation, proclaimed Islam is not a religion, and decried Muslims as residents in this country.
