Muslim advocacy group calls Bowles’ Islam posts ‘campaign of hatred’

Bowles: Posts related to her Christian faith, belief in Jesus Christ

A Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization is making a renewed call for the resignation of Peoria Unified School District governing board member Janelle Bowles for continued anti-Islamic posts to her Facebook page.

During the past few months, Bowles has shared a number of posts to her Facebook page that included fears of Islam taking over the nation and decried Muslims as residents in this country, among others. Most recently, she shared a post Aug. 30 that said “Islam is not a religion it’s a political organization run by terrorists.”

Islam is a major world monotheistic religion with more than two billion followers globally, according to World Population Review.
